ukactive free Promising Practice Regional Roadshows April and May 2017
We are delighted to invite you to ukactive’s Promising Practice Regional Roadshows, sponsored by eGym, Les Mills and Alliance Leisure, and supported by Public Health England and the National Centre for Sport and Exercise Medicine.
These events are free to attend and will be taking place across the UK in April and May 2017.
The ukactive Research Institute, Public Health England and the National Centre for Sport and Exercise Medicine have partnered to run the Promising Practice programme, which examines physical activity interventions with the aim of providing important insight into ‘what works’ in getting more people, more active, more often. By identifying good and promising practice that – if scaled up – could contribute to shifting the population towards making ‘everybody active every day’, we aim to promote programmes that deliver the related health, economic and social benefits for local communities.
The day will provide delegates with the opportunity to hear about the Promising Practice programme and to gain insight from regional political representatives about their commitment to the physical activity agenda. Our England based events will also give attendees an opportunity to hear from Public Health England on the importance of identification and scale-up of effective interventions and an overview of Sport England’s local community strategy, while our event in Edinburgh will give delegates a chance to hear from leading organisations delivering strategies for physical activity in Scotland.
Delegates will also have the opportunity to view posters from local physical activity providers to gain insight on best practice in your local area.
If you operate in various locations across the UK we would welcome your attendance at multiple roadshows, however please note that we can only offer two places per organisation at each event.
